Family Services

“Family is supposed to be our safe haven. Very often, it’s the place where we find the deepest heartache” ~ Iyanla Vanzant

Whether you desire to repair a broken relationship or gain a sense of closure by letting your loved ones know how you feel; with their participation, family therapy may be right for you. A part of your self-care may have been to distance yourself from loved ones, or perhaps you’ve noticed that they have distanced themselves from you. The truth is, we are relational beings. We all desire to be loved unconditionally, but sometimes those closest to us can hurt us the most. When we feel hurt it often stirs up other difficult feelings like resentment, abandonment and shame. We commonly “stuff” these feelings in hopes of getting over it, but too often it unexpectedly surfaces and affects our ability to forgive and move forward. Your therapist can help to interrupt destructive cycles and assist family members in being heard and validated, thus improving the quality of your relationships.
